Well just finished my last exam at uni and decided to load up origin for a bash of bf4 and noticed my NVidia gtx880 is not showing. so I pressed ctrl + f5 to switch graphics and still it wasn't showing...
corrupted driver maybe ? ok so I uninstalled the driver and downloaded the latest from NVidia site and when I try and install the driver says no compatible hardware detected or words to that effect.
ok this has happened before maybe im running soley on the intel gpu.. so I pressed ctrl + f5 again and once again tried to install the new NVidia driver and again it failed.
At this point I started to worry slightly. so I rebooted my laptop and went into the bios, and the bios under discrete graphics1 is empty (no hardware) !

have I missed something or is my NVidia 880 dead ?

Yea if it is not showing up in the bios that is a very bad sign.

Remove the graphics card and clean mmx slot and gpu. Reset your graphics card and check in the bios afterwards.

This worked, my NVidia GTX880m is now being seen in the bios and I was able to install the latest driver error free.
    Thank you. +1

I guess the too and froing from Uni has dislodged it just enough for it not to be seen in the bios.
