Hi, every time i start the notebook, killer wifi app ask me about test bandwidth.

Values from the last test was stored, but checks in options arent saved.

Is a bug? a problem with the soft? with the hard? is normal?

Go to Start>All Programs>Startup. delete the Bigfoot manager from here. It's just a short cut so everytime you reboot it will always pop up.

No, if you disable the Killer manager from startup, it will never run full stop. Just run the test, hit apply, then change the values to something higher, the test is never accurate which means it will be limiting your bandwidth. If it annoys you, jut remove it completely.

I think i will remove it completely, limit bandwidth is a non sense.

    Thank you.

sounds like data loss, either a bad stick of ram or hdd data corruption. is this every time or after a bsod?
    computer shutting down normally?

properly calibrated, it should not limit your bandwidth. it's meant to find your theoretical maximum in order to prioritize the bandwidth.

stuff like online games or voip are given high priority, browsing normal priority and downloads/torrents low priority. the end result is a much smoother multitasking online experience.

after installing this, i often leave my torrents seeding while playing mmo's and don't even notice the ping go up in the slightest. voip while downloading... not a problem with this software prioritizing. best thing is, it's database knows games and voip apps from browsers and other stuff.

honestly imo the only thing that's nonsense is buying such a card and then not using the software since you paid for it. it's what seperates this card from all other generic ones. if you're not going to use the software, your money should have been spent on a much cheaper card which does exactly the same thing. basically, the software makes this card unique.

Yeah I was only saying that as a backup. I don't advise disabling the Killer Manager as it is useful. It won't limit your bandwidth if you set your values higher than what the actual test gives.

Doing the steps I said does not disable the manager. It only disables it for every time you reboot. You can still go to >Programs>Bigfoot Networks>Killer Network Manager to run the test manually.

Removing access on the start, dont make tha manager run at starup, have to manually start the program to make it appear at the dock, anyway as soon as i open the manager the test show up.

if you download the new version from the site, it wont do it anymore. Download the file, then uninstall the current manager (will disable your connections) do the restart, install new version, restart again. The manager will start up, but the window wont pop up for the test. And you no longer will have to deal with the annoying "dont show me this again" with the checkbox, that no matter how many times you check it, never sticks.

the new version is off bigfoot's site or from dell?

I have since stopped using them and am on Atheros drivers. Reason being each time i boot up i got the prompt " LSP not mapped correctly"

sometimes the wireless does randomly disconnects on the atheros drivers though..

I've had this issue onmy last 3 machines so annoying. I just did a clean install and obviously had to put the network driver on to do the w7 updates and it pops up every single time I restart.

Anyone have a link to the driver?

Not sure if this has been posted before but I was getting constant BSOD after installing the driver and once I launch a browser BSOD all the time. Here is something I found yesterday and so far it is working for me.

"For all those complaining about getting constant blue screens of death (BSOD) crashes:
These are caused by the Killer Wireless N driver software (Killer Network Manager).
You can resolve the issue by insuring you download the latest version of the Killer Network Manager and then disable "Application Control" from within the software.
Since I have done that, I have not had a BSOD (fingers crossed)."
