    hi dear alienware owners.
    Well.
I want to ask about the quality of the alienware m17x.
    I bought a m17x last month.
First time got the laptop, everythings perfect. But, now i discover there are some hole in the surface that there isnt any before.
Its like a hole, a bit like a dot in a smooth surface.
Althought its so small. But still can see it.

What i want to ask is there any in alienware m17 owner have a same problem too?
Having a dot in a laptop that there arent before.

First, i guess its a hole or a scratch. But i dont know for sure. Since its too small to see but its noticeable.
Is there any owners here also dissapoint with the quality of the laptop? (not the performance, but the quality like easy to get strecth, or easy get damage, etc)

Give your opinion about my problem and how to overcome the "dot" in the surface.
    And Share your problem here.

its in the front side of the laptop...
    near the speaker...
the "hole"/"dot" is at the plastic surface...
    Dunno what the cause...
but i know its common in laptop that using plastic materials..
usually have a little hole like a dot...
but i surprise that alienware plastic also like that...
    VERY DISAPPOINTED....
you should look at the plastic surface using a Led lamp / Led Flash to see whether there's a "little hole" or not...

    wow...
well...could you tell us about your problem...
    share with us...
so we maybe can help you...
or maybe there are others who have same problem with you who might want to know how you resolved the problem...

klemens, could you please not double post on these forums? If you need to add something to a post, then use the 'edit' button.

It would help if you took a picture of the 'hole' and uploaded it so that we could see it.

As a note, you could always call Dell with the problem.

Klemens, have you or a technician operated on the laptop?

That bump, if I'm understanding correctly, is caused by screwing an incorrect sized screw in from the bottom of the palmrest (near the front speakers).

When you use a longer screw then what was meant to be used, the excess length goes and protrudes the palmrest.

I have some paint chipping on the plastic part of the palm rest and the command center touch sensetive strip is warped... I called AW and they are sending a tech with two new pieces to replace the damaged ones... took me all but 10 minutes on the phone (Gotta call at night so you have no wait time on hold)... they are REALLY good about taking care of stuff like this. Give them a call at (866) 287-6727 if your in the USA... just have your service tag handy.
