    m17 r3 wont go pass 2.1ghz i7 2670qm

    I just purchased a used laptop. it has the I7 2670QM processor. The processor under load wont go pass 2.1ghz. Is this processor suppose to go up to 3.1ghz? Is there a setting i need to change on it to bring it up to speed?

    have you checked the BIOS settings to see if turbo boost is enabled?

    yes sir, when not under load the cpu is at 700mhz. and jumps to 2.1 when im gaming. but thats as far as it goes

    Here is what cpu-z reads

    This is when its under load

    core speed is 2192.mhz
    multiplier x22
    bus speed 99.7

    i found the issue. intel speedstep was disabled in bios. after i enable that my processor now boost to 3.1ghz
