Ok, I purchased a M17x off a guy at work the other day. I'm a computer tech at a local shop. But really can't figure out what's going on. I think it's the video cards maybe?

He didn't give me a power brick, so I was using a dell one, I think it was only like 90w or so though.

But when I turn on the machine, I can hear the fans turn on, the screen comes on somewhat but it's just a black screen with lines going through it, really hard to see the lines.

I plugged it up to a external monitor through HDMI and VGA, nothing happened. I can hit enter and hear it beep once.

The power button ribbon was ripped when I took it apart so I'm waiting on a new one to come in at the moment, do you guys think it's the video cards? It had two cards in it, I think they're 280m's in SLI. Or do you think it's just where I was running it under powered. I think it needs a 240w, while I was using a 90w or less dell charger.

I also tried hitting FN / F6 I think it was and all of the other hot keys.

The laptop is at the shop still where I work so I can't get any more info till I go back to work. I think the model number is p01e it's a m17x, core 2 duo, 280m's I believe.
