    Hello i noticed that left gpu on m17x r1 has something sticked and on right gpu not. What is that?

    It can be seen in this teardown video at 5:42 just look left and right gpu what is and why is that thing sticked to left gpu and for what it is?

    I believe that's meant to work as an insulator, it should reduce the heat felt through the keyboard.

    You can try to keep it but it will most likely be torn when you do the re-paste. I don't think it will make a whole lot of difference though.
