Can you post your specification? M17x R1/R2/R3? when you say hot, how much is hot?

Install hwinfo32 and tell us your temperatures and fan speed. (if you are already monitoring them, tell us the reading you've got.

Are you overclocking? Mine has done this when using the bios to overclock. Try removing any FSB or memory overclock settings or just returning all BIOS settings to default. Not sure why this happens but I know that it does...not all the time...but it does.

If he doesn't first post his config (overclocking through bios? heck we didn't even know wich model of m17x he is talking about, wich cpu etc...), guessing like this is helpless imho

Same problem here... But using TS or Nvidia control panel the fans work fine.

It seems to only happen to me if i had my graphics cards OC'd too far, and my system hardlocked and required a reboot. if i do a proper restart after windows reloads, the problem goes away. It made me paranoid the first time it happened though, i now always monitor my temps. I freaked out when it happened the first time and my GPU's where in the high 90's
