Hello guys,
I just received my HD 7970m to replace a dead HD 6990m.
I was kinda dumb, and accidently damaged my GPU cooler wires.
Then I made a "jump start" to get it running, seems OK, but I keep getting 6 beeps (GPU issue I guess).
Can someone confirm if when the cooler isn't correctly working the system also does 6 beeps?
Thanks,
Christian.

GPU "Cooler"? You mean the GPU's fan? If one of the wires is damaged, then it's possible the fan is not sending a signal back to the BIOS and that could be causing the beep error code.

Sorry hehe
Yes, it's the GPU Fan...

Radji is completely right, it might be because of that. Have you tried reseating the card? If you need a replacement fan send us an e-mail to [email protected] and we'll help you with that.

Hello!
Thanks for your help Alienware-L_Porras!
I actually can't order nothing from Dell, since my Alienware doesn't get recognized using the Service Code or Express Service Code.
I've just sent you my alienware Autopsy codes!
Thanks
