    Hey guys,

thought I would share the news I got out of a rep.. and I almost wonder if its too good to be true.

She said that they are SATA III 6.0gbs and that includes the raid controller!

So if you go with the newest OCZ Vertex 3 Pro you will most likely be able to utilize it at its full capabilities! Amazing.

Almost too amazing... so please tell me shes not wrong :p

Yeah I am just surprised that it has a Hardware RAID Controller that also has it supported

This is confusing. I don't think it has a raid controller. But it should support one. I plan on upgrading to vertex 3 240gb as soon as it is available (should be around 500). The pro is too expensive and not with the extra $ in my opinion.

Actually I talked to the tech support, and they did say it had a hardware raid controller.

And yes I want the vertex 3 as well, and you need the 6gbs for that!

    thats great.
But I am not using SSDs with RAID anyway....too much money :D

any idea about putting a SATA II SSD into SATA III port in R3?

Should work just fine, downscaling is never a problem. And yeah putting a SATA III RAID is kinda overkill, but its still fun to think about :p

Sure SATA III is a faster interface, so it technically won't have a bottleneck except the drive itself.

I'm planning to get my first ssd when the OCZ Vertex 240gb comes out.

That's it way too expensive to ever try 2 for myself. Still nice to see the latest one actually supports both.
