alright well I had to recently reinstall Windows after acquiring my 256gb SSD drive and switching the system to ACHI over Raid, and I got everything working properly. And even Games work well too, and everything is great except.....

I can't get windows Aero to work properly for some reason, when I run a diagnosis it says that my desktop manager for Aero is Locked, but I'm lost as to how to unlock it or what I have to do or isntall to get Windows Aero to work. I really don't care about the Looks of windows Aero, but I will be the first to admit that I do like the mini windows on the taskbar over just titles of current windows.

any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Try installing all necessary windows updates. I was having the same issue (not exactly though) and I updated with a windows service pack and then everything worked.

A few users pointed out that the latest version of Alienware's OSD application causes issues with Aero on occasion.

I finally fixed it, I don't think that alienware control panel had anything to do with it however I just downloaded the latest ATI drivers from the ATI website installed it and then it worked. I had to wait a day to do this because the ATI driver website was down or not loading on my PC all day Friday, Saturday morning. Luckily Saturday evening it was up and I could download and install it and it seem to have fixed my problem, thanks.

Now I gotta reinstall the Alienware control panel

It is the Alienware control panel, it affects it somehow. I uninstalled it works fine. With it installed every other reboot doesn't have Aero.

    100% true

It'd be nice if this could be forwarded to ChrisM or someone else on the dell team.
