17-Inch Dell Alienware Gaming Laptop Gets Radeon HD 6970 - Softpedia
Is this legit information? This has me very excited. Sandy Bridge + crossfire 6970 that would be a thing of beauty.
I sold my m17x r1 with sli gtx280's awhile back and I built a custom desktop but havent gotten a new laptop.
AMD 1090t OC'd to 4.4ghz
a pre overclocked SOC 2GB 5870
4x2 8GB 1333Mhz Ram
3.5" OCZ Vertex 2 240GB SSD
2TB WD Black
Asus Xonar Essence STX PCI-e Sound
750 watt thermaltake PSU
Even got a nice empty pci-e slot incase i need to go crossfire 5870's but 1 of those powers through all my games at max settings. And I still got 1200 dollars left from my laptop sale. If this is true and alienware will be releasing the 6970 crossfire m17x with sandy bridge processors well then I found my replacement laptop. Been holding off for sandy bridge and having 6970's would just be icing on the cake.

The Ultra-High-End mobile GPU expected from AMD is BlackComb, which is most likely based on HD6850 (70-80% of its power) - that doesn't leave much room for illusions. We'll be very lucky if mobile CF proves to be 20% faster than 470/480M SLI available in Clevo's.

This has already been reported here:

There has been no confirmation from Dell/AW that I have come across on the net or here in the forums, however it does sound interesting!
