I can't get the dual monitor screen going, when i hit windows P it isn't detecting HDMI out period...

can anyone help me please? I am totally lost and I have searched endlessly online and tried everything to no avail

Basically i have no clue how to get my HDMI out working

when i go to 'hardware and sound' and then 'manage audio devices' here's what comes up

    Hello sonies,

there should only be one way to plug in an HDMI cable. If the plug end is fitting in more than one orientation, there is an issue.

The HDMI cable needs to be connected to both the computer and the monitor/tv and the monitor/tv has to be powered on and the HDMI input selected.

There are only three possible things that can be wrong here.

    1. Bad HDMI cable. Yes, I realize you stated that it isn't the cable. How do you know this for sure?
    2. Bad HDMI port on TV/Monitor or bad TV/Monitor. I am assuming that this monitor is known working.
    3. Bad HDMI port on the laptop itself. It could be broken inside, or crossed pins... Have you used the HDMI port on the laptop previously?

I would suggest, at this point, trying a different HDMI cable and inspecting the HDMI port on the laptop for damage.

I tried another cable to and from the input place where i want it to go it, it shows a picture when i use my ps3 with it. however when i use that cable from the CPU, nothing

I know there is only one way to connect a HDMI cable, its connected properly. I had no issues connecting my POS previous laptop to my TV

This computer is relatively new so I have not used the HDMi port and I highly doubt it is broken as it looks perfectly fine.

It is some sort of setup/configuration thing that I am having issues with, I have all the updated drivers but something is amiss and I can't figure it out

here is what my nvidia control panel looks like, no option for other monitors on the 'connector' part :/

I do understand that. Unfortunately, the laptop and the TV/Monitor should recognize that they are connected to each other, even if no signal is being sent.

As in your previous screen shot, the device is connected and the driver is not detecting the HDMI connection or device.

When you connect the display device, and power it on, you should hear the windows "Hardware Detected" chime. Your video driver should then recognize the device is connected.

Is this a television you are connecting to?

It's all good. I didn't even think about the possibility that the computer had an HDMI input...

    Everything working okay now?
