i am supposed to have 2 x 256GB SSD in RAID 0 that came in with my m17x.

How can i check that i indeed have those drives in my system running win 7?

on the device manager, all i can see is 1 disk drive and labeled only as "dell".

on my computer window, all i can see is 1 drive labeled as "c: OS" which has 462GB.

    thanks a bunch guys.

install the new intel rapid storage manager.it will tell you the status of each drive.you should also see the info when your pc starts up.

you can go into the bios and see each drive individually.

your setup sounds right, 2x256 in Raid 0 will give you 512GB (minus obvious calculations for storage size. Plus the Alienware Respawn partition.

Run Crystal Disk info. It will tell you every thing you need to know about your SSDs.

Download and run the program HWinfo32 or CrystalDisk.. HW32 will show all your hardware and CrystalDisk will give you specific info on your SDD's.

crystal disk info does not work on ssd raid configurations(at least not on mine)maybe you can test and tell me if it works on yours.this is what hwinfo32 should look like.

Doesn't it list your systems drives under the Raid manager through the BIOS. that seems like the simplest way of figuring this out. (aside from opening up the damn case and seeing whats inside).

I'm curious as to why HWinfo32 doesn't recognize my second SSD? They aren't in raid.. CrystalDisk recognizes them but HW32 doesn't.. One's listed as OS C: and the other as D:
