Today was my first real excursion with the m17x in tow in the Slappa Matrix 17" backpack.
It really wasn't that heavy, much less than I was expecting at least. Thankfully there was not much else in the backpack besides the m17x, power adapter, and wireless mouse.
Previously for trying it on for a real outing I had my doubts about the Slappa Matrix, but now I definitely see I just needed a little getting used to a heavy backpack.
As my experiences go so far I think this backpack is wonderful and really great. Definitely easier to manage and more healthy than a messenger bag.
However, something unfortunate that I did notice was that with the cloth sleeve on it's quite hard to remove the m17x from the backpack due to the "slipping" and only really being able to grip the cloth and not the laptop.
The reason I am reluctant to just get rid of the cloth sleeve is because although the m17x will fit inside the Slappa Matrix, it looks like the corners just barely show as well as the velcro will touch a portion on the case.
Can velcro scratch the aluminum? Can anyone say for certain their experiences with this and the backpack? It's not the soft velcro hooks, it's the harder ones. Technically some scratches wouldn't affect the performance of the machine but....well, you all know you wouldn't want scratches either.![]()
If I need to keep it on, I will, but if I don't I'd love to know.
