    Hi guys,

I have a problem with my m17x. Basically I have to switch it on and off twice before it will boot, if I switch it on for the first time, it just hangs after the POST, I then have to turn it off and then on again before it boots properly.

a little back ground. When I got the laptop it was set to a stripped RAID, but then my one hard drive failed so I had to have it replaced. When I reload I took the HDD out of the RAID config, but Im still getting the same error.

Any ideas? I've played around with the RAID and ACHI settings but nothing seems to fix the problem.

Try resetting the BIOS to defaults and make sure you have no devices disabled there. It's a known bios bug

Also, try to power drain the lappy.
Turn the laptop off and remove battery and power supply.
Press the power button for 20 seconds.
    Return battery and power supply.
