so i had to format my m17x r2 and i bought it year ago (first format)

i formatted because i the problem of black screen/won't shut down
started to happen but now i'm confused, i used the resource dvd i got
with the m17x and installed all the drivers. the graphic driver from
the dvd is for 4870 (and i do remember as much as my memory won't fail me
that it was a 4870 not 5870) and i did installed the driver, more likely it showed
that i have installed but it didn't actually do anything, same as before the installation,
i didn't wasted any second i opened the amd main site and downloaded
the most updated driver for 4xxx series.
after the installation it showed that i have for some unknown reason 5800.
i did uninstall and searched for more information in the internet about the problem
and came across some topic in this forum about drivers for 4870 and 5870
and downloaded the 4870 driver, but again after the installation it showed
    5870 not 4870.
i have never where more confused then i am now, do i actually have 5870?
or i my graphic card have some mental problems...
oh and the problem i had with the black screen/wont shut down didnt solved
i still have to pray each time i shut down my m17x manually that nothing
    will happen.

    and i deeply sorry for incorrect English, its not my main language. ><;

this happened to me about 5 years ago, when my hp pavillion apparently had geforce go 7200, but I didn't figure it out until I format it and reinstall drivers... no idea

EDIT: check the core speed with GPU-Z, if 700MHz then you have 5870, if 550MHz then 4870
