    Hi guys~

I have the original m17x with LCD / CCFL lamps. I was wondering what is the life on these lamps and if they are replaceable?

I remember reading it somewhere that the casing / LCD / lamps are one sealed unit on m17x, therefore can't be replaced easily.

    Many thanks in advance!

I doubt that you'll be able to replace the CCFLs. They are wedged somewhere in the laptop lid, and are probably part of a sealed unit with the LCD display.

The CCFL lifespan should be about average - somewhere around 30,000 hours (our around 10 years at 8 hours a day). Chances are that you'll need to replace the laptop before the CCFLs die.

From what I remember, the whole shebang is a single unit, so I don't think you can replace individual bulbs...
