My rep gave me this quote of m17x r3 with a very nice discount. unfortunately, when i closely check on it, it has windows ultimate instead of home premium. i did not realize I asked for ultimate on my first email on her.. so basically it was my fault. when i tried to contact her, she was already off and will be back on the 24th! :(

my question is if i ask another member of her team to change something on the quote she gave me, will she still be getting the credit or the current rep that tweak the quote she gave me?

    thanks

I can answer this seeing as I worked for Dell. If someone alters the quote and emails it to you then that person will get credit for the sale, if you call in no matter what the rep tells you then they will get credit for the sale. The only way the original rep get's credit for the sale is if 1) you buy it with them over the phone 2) You buy it from the email they send you or 3) You speak to a member of their soar team (soar is a outbound group, which reps will ask to call you and get the sale).

    thanks.

i will be calling members of her team and ask her/him to alter the quote. can she still get credit? i can go on with the sale with other rep... but i do not want her to feel betrayed when she did not get the credit she deserve..

No whoever makes the sale will get the credit..Sales rep are under no obligations to transfer the credit to any one else and won't do, a sale like this is big bucks for a sales rep. The team member may say that the original person will get the sale but they won't.

Also Sales team's work the same shifts.. so if your rep is off for 2 days there is a really good chance your call will go to another team.

When I worked for Dell other teams used to go through sales quotes from people and re-email the quote or call them to get the sale.

When you call her extension, is there a number to call to modify/place an order? We had to leave contact information in the voicemail so people like yourself could place a order with the SOAR team and the rep would get original credit.

when i called her, it only told me that she is currently unavailable and that i will be transferred to a member of her team.

if i place my order now with her quote, can i still modify it afterwards. that way she can still get the credit.

This is the gray area... If you place the order with her, and then cancel it, and then re-order in theory the credit will go to her... The problem being sales reps are sneaky, and will change something on your personal information so that the order becomes hard to find.

This happens all the time, with orders being changed.. and re-ordered, a while back reps would go through high end orders and do the exact same thing just to get a sale and hope they would not be found, I once had a rep call one of my customers offering them a better deal with the use of coupons and upping the warranty (warranty is a huge margin for dell sales rep) if they would cancel the order then wait 7 days to re-order.
