can anyone tell me what the latest nvidia drivers are for the m17x r1 are as i have done a re install of windows on mine and when i try to install the drivers 295.18, 290.xx or 280.xx the wifi stop working i will just get a red X next to the wifi icon is this a known issue as i can seem to fine anything on Google about it.

the other strange think is that if i plug it straight into my router its fine the wifi comes back and i can use it fine but if i take out the ethernet it will be ok for about a minute and then fail again

Go to Device Manager -> Network Adapters -> Nvidia nForce 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet -> Properties -> Advanced and Disable 'Device sleep on disconnect' (when the wired connection goes to sleep if causes problems for the wireless adapter). And I'm using 295.51 Betas and they're working great.

If you are going to use an custom INF file, this is what you need to do (Nvidia, i think LaptopVideo2GO has some AMD / ATI aswell):

    1. NVIDIA & Laptop News | Latest NVIDIA drivers and related news | laptopvideo2go.com (Resource for drivers + INF file)
    2. Extract your driver-package.
    3. Replace the INF file in the package with the custom one.
    4. Run install (And then it should let you pass through)

(LaptopVideo2go has a pretty good description on how to do this. For AMD, you might need to go into Windows Test mode, then run the installer, and aftwerwards sign the drivers yourself with an third party software.. I think they have an guide on that aswell.)
