    m17x r2 - only lights up

    Hello everyone,

    i have a serious problem with my m17x r2 for serveral months now, laptop lights up but does nothing, fans spin for 2-3 seconds and then goes silent
    no beeps, no flashing num or caps.

    any tips or whatsoever are welcome,

    Test components, one by one. Keep removing them until you get a beep or led code...

    No beeping at all? Have you tried draining all of the power from the laptop and rebooting?

    1. Turn OFF the computer and unplug the power cord.
    2. Remove the primary battery.
    3. Remove the coin cell battery (CMOS battery).
    4. Press & hold the Power Button for 60 seconds.
    5. Reinsert the coin cell battery (CMOS battery).
    6. Plug the power cord in.
    7. Turn ON the computer, enter the BIOS-Setup and load the "Setup Defaults/Optimized Settings".
    8. Save the BIOS settings and restart the computer (F10).
    9. Shutdown the computer, reinsert the primary battery, start the computer.
    10. No success? Repeat.
