I know there a ton of posts about laptop coolers and air flow for this computer. however none of them have answered my question. I know that using a laptop cooler can sometimes mess up your computer. So i am wondering about the airflow on this laptop. Do the fans on the bottom blow hot air out? would it be safe if i used the cooler master notepal u2 cooling pad? the fans on this model blow air up. If that is bad for my computer i could switch the fans to blow air down and away from the laptop. Would that be a better thing to do?

The fans draw air in from the bottom and (mostly) exhaust it through the big rear grille. The U2/U3 is a great solution, and the U3 model has 3 re-positionable fans, allowing you to place one under each region that can draw air. Some people here on NBR have also reported very decent results from merely elevating the machine so it can breathe a little better.

Well, the U2 and U3 coolers both feature re-positionable fans (my preference is the U3 because I and you too have a Crossfire setup, so both our machines have 3 main air draw points.) There isn't really a "default" position because the cooler base looks like a honeycomb panel and the manufacturer makes no effort to place the fans in a precise location for any particular machine. Just put them near the top of the feasible locations, check the machine fans-to-base relationship, and adjust until you are satisfied. It's really simple, trust me, and it isn't that critical anyway.
