m17x r3 black ops solo lag?

i just got done downloading black ops from steam, ive tried to play solo zombies and campaign and it lags some thing horrible, i have a m17x r3 i7 2720qm, 6970m o/c 750/1150, fraps shows my fps between 28-74 on the highest settings, and the lowest its like 91, does this game normally lag or something? and by lag i mean the screen freezes for a second, not connection lag, more like fps lag

 

This aint normal. Update your drivers and such, this shouldnt happen. I completed singleplayer in BO with the same hardware and played a good 20-30 hours online - not a single problem.

 

After the last patch that came out my game has been lagging big time. I even have the newest drivers too

 

ive downloaded the official steam version.. running of the 750 gig hdd... also found the skidrow cracked version so i coud apply the custom updates, and still lags, its only in that game.. no other, crysis 2 never lags and with the overclcocks on ultra setting stays at around 30-45... no probs, as do all my other games

 

First of all, if you play online 1st it depends on the different servers, 2d sometimes steam lacks of connection (you have to exit steam and then relaunch black ops) , you can see you'll have problem with steam while searching the servers , the mouse pointer doesn't react); 3rd with the original dell drivers (8.80.6-101202a-109902C-Dell) everything worked fine, then I update to the latest dell (9/8/11) and it was impossible to play (20 fps on black ops). I returned back to the older one and now it'ok,
PS: on multiplayer fraps shows between 72 and 91 with 1920x1080 and all settings set to maximum, I have 2630 and 6970 the other components are dell standard. Hope it helps

yea almost same here, but im lagging in solo mode...

 

I tried now black ops single player for the 1st time on the m17 (I already finished the game on another machine) and with all the settings set to maximum plus "elaborating shader", I don't know the name ot this setting in english, on the first mission (cuba) fraps shows between 58 and 72/78 with no lag or freezes. No OC.

 

You have to tweak the config file a little bit. Make sure it's set to multi threaded and single GPU. Also you can remove the fps limit, which is at 90fps as far as I remember.

 

Ok here is what I did and it worked. Turn off shadows and vsync. Lag went away

 

did that and tweaked the config.cfg, also set the cod blackops process priority to high, no lag, super smoth, high fps, thanks for the help, lol ima noob atm
