My laptop shuts down when the 580m gpu reaches 62C. I have tried rolling back the drivers to 344.11 but no use. I have tried with AlienAutopsy, furmark and Shadow of Mordor with hwinfo logging the temps.

Also, when i had 344.48, the laptop would boot up into a blank screen so I rolled back to 348.11

    What should I do?

I had one that did exactly the same at 64c. The 580m (and 675m same card) are notorious for flaking out. I've seen around 8 in recent months, I've had 3 myself.

You might find that a very old driver will give you some more life. 314.22 was the last driver before they started dieing and sometimes gets you a few more hours of use.

I would say that looking to upgrade is the way forward. The 680m is a great card IMO for the R3. The 780m is also a good replacement but it does cause issues with the R3 on-board sound that can be tricky to resolve.

You will find a lot of info on upgrading the R3 with some searches.

Once you have a handle on it, ask me about any specifics :D

    Good luck

Edit: Do you have the 120hz display? This makes upgrading a lot easier ;)
