    Hi guys,

Ok, so I was having trouble with the drivers on the windows 7 (mouse, camera & FN+ buttons not working properly) so I decided to upgrade to windows 8.1.

Everything is still not working! The mouse connects and shows as a HID-compliant device under mouses with drivers installed.. but it wont work? The mouse is a microsoft 1000 cheap wireless one, but still.. I'd expect it to function.

The camera isnt working also, and the FN buttons definitely don't work.

I haven't got a command centre either anymore

    Can anyone help??

I was having trouble on the dell driver site, wasn't scanning my laptop properly so I installed Mydell (AlienAutopsy + Pc Checkup), and it seems like all drivers are up to date on Mydell.

I think it's def a driver issue, should I just follow the installation order for win7 as I cant find one for win8.1

Also, Do I have to uninstall the drivers first?

Ok I managed to get a lot of it working now, but my lifeforce is drained

The only thing left is the camera - since I bought this off someone else how would I go about getting the software?

    Jollybean,
Verify you have Alienware OSD installed (in control panel, under uninstall programs it should be in there called "Alienware On-Screen Display).

For your mouse, it just might not be compatible with the R4 or lack the firmware support, (this is the case with one of my Razer mice, and i paid 80 bills for it).

Is there a way to check which mouses are compatible? What are the requirements and issues with compatibility?

Thank you for your reply by the way, I have sorted all other issues out including OSD.

Not True.... its all in the firmware support. there really is no way to tell which are, and which are not. I would research what mice have been reported to run smooth with the R4.

A great mouse is the Razer Abyssus. Out of the half dozen i have tried, this one runs the best, for me.

I haven't had any issues with USB mice in my r4. So I am confused as to the compatibility. As brother Luis said, check the mouse on another computer.
