    Hi all,

When I ordered my alienware from alienware.be I only had the choice between a dutch qwerty and a french azerty keyboard.
Unknowing that a dutch qwerty is diferent than a US qwerty i ordered the dutch qwerty.

Now I see that its a LOT different, NOONE uses dutch qwerty, even in holland EVERYBODY uses US qwerty.

I called the Belgian support guys and they told me I had to return the WHOLE laptop within the first week I got it, now there is nothing they can do anymore.
They can send a technician with a us qwerty but this will cost me 300 euro ($450), they WONT sent me the keyboard cause then my warranty expires ...

Is there anything I can do about this ? I cant find this keyboard on websites ..

ps : nice support from dell for a $2000 laptop

I have no idea, but all I could think of is maybe you can buy the keyboard online from ebay or amazon?

I dont think they deliver to europe.
I have send an email to dell (us), this is the response :

    Tommy,

They do not have the availability in that region from my understanding. We sell the keyboards in the US, but do not ship overseas.

If you have a US credit card and an address to ship to in the US, you could order one.

that's exactly what I was thinking. If you had a way to get it from the US and ship it overseas.

Unfortunately I dont have a way.
But isnt it crazy I cant get a simple keyboard because I wasnt able to select the us keyboard when ordening, and now there is NO WAY to get a keyboard (unless 2nd hand from ebay or something)

Why did I pay 300 euro extra for extra warranty ? its all useless to me

I should have resend the WHOLE laptop within the first week and then order a new laptop (this is what dell support belgium told me), this is just crazy for me but then again I now know what laptop Im gonna suggest to my friends/colleagues

thanks anyway for answering the forums

The warranty that you added is to cover hardware related issues with the PC. I know it seems weird that you can't get it shipped out there but it is just due to availability of the parts in some regions.

I apologize for the inconveniences. Perhaps you have a relative that can help you out from the states or even Canada.?

It's probably gonna end up being the same type of keyboard due to the order details :( :(
