Seriously, I've had my R2 fall so many times from my bed, a 30+ cm fall, and it's just chipped here and there, even took a fall from my desktop, something like 50cm and it's still here working like nothing, feels like it's made out of nintendium![]()
The only part that actually broke is the right lower plastic grid on the back.
How about yours, how much punishment have they taken till now ?

my m17x r2 gets treated like a baby until I start benching or gaming so it only get a virtual/electrical thrashing not a physical thrashing

I unintentionally slammed mine into the corner of something and took a little chunk of rubbery awesomeness off the monitor top edge. Just little notch but it seems well deserved after the slam it recieved. Haven't dropped it yet though so can't comment there.

I put it down too hard while in the backpack once. It rolled upside down in the bag once too. I'd likely kill the person who looked at it wrong or was closest to me at the time I make a mistake with it so the gods have kept it and the public safe from my wrath. I can't believe you've dropped yours several times. Good luck mang

4+ foot fall onto concrete when one of my backpack straps gave way. The backpack has no padding whatsoever. The center piece of the left rear grille cracked, but that's it. Worked like a charm. I replaced the bottom case with a nebula red one because of the cracked grille.

God luck holding a real baby or a babe...Lol!

With almost the same components like in my MSI GX740 this baby is almost twice as heavy. It has its purpose
. I LOVE IT. Never droped it or scratched it. This is a desktop replacement for me, almost without any wires.
This Tank with CF/SLI is IMMORTAL. -

Mine mainly sits on my desk, though I do move it around the desk and have taken it apart a ton of times. Still looks minty to me
Although I just got a new screen and palm rest since the depot scratched mine. I baby my system. I think my wife is afraid to touch it. She uses it if it's on the desk and setup for everyday use. But rarely if my benching drive is in. She sticks to the inspiron I bought her for school.

I treat my M17x like it's a baby. I do carry it back & fourth to work daily as it's a back up machine should one fail there. However I do carry in a specific backpack & honestly it's only taken out once a week. NO ONE touches my Alien! It's not even a question to be asked. On Fridays I take it out in order to use on weekends but that's about it. It's kind of like my Toy/Hobby I guess. Always wanting to upgrade, figure out the latest tweak, etc. You guys enjoy dropping your's while I enjoy still smelling that fresh Alien smell every time I lift the display.

Touch and loose your finger to my rusty pliers.

My question is, what one liner comes into your heads when people try to touch your screens? -

Touch it again, and I'll stab you in the face with a soldering iron. lol

I guess I'm lucky. I think people who see me using The Alienware never even ask to touch it because they can tell by my facial expression. It may be my Toy but its not yours. Matter a fact they even stand back from a distance more so than if I were not using it. Even when complimenting or asking questions they stay back. I have plenty of machines I will let someone use... Just Not My Alien
