hi my alienware m17x-R2 is still new i built it on the website just before they switched to the newest machines today. but my question is when im on battery power and it tells me to plug in the power when i do it says not charging but what i have to do is power down the laptop unplug the power and remove the battery entirely put it back in and plug the power back up and it starts charging im wonder if something is failing or if i should be worried or maybe its a software glitch? not sure so that is why im here today asking for advice and guidance.also i have the 4 yr premium warranty so i am totally covered.so is this an internal part failing possibly or maybe the software.i mean it doesnt do it all the time either just every now and then

I read someone else having this issue but I don't remember if it was solved. Do you have the latest BIOS?

how long you wait for the Icon to change from not charging to charging? Try to wait for 15 minutes once you put the cable in, mine takes around 5 to 10 minutes to change from not charging to charging. I use modified A10 bios.

    Also try to use Fn+F2.

ive bin testing it back and forth today with the battery that came with the system and i can produce the same not charging issue waiting atleast 10-15 minutes each test so ive bin reading alot of the A10 bios thread and noticed one thing which was no one tried to swap batteries when i purchased my machine i bought a extra battery so i swapped out the battery plugged it up booted it into windows unplugged the power then plugged the power back in several times each time it immediately going into charge mode every time if that makes sence so far ive bin doing it all day unplugging and plugging it back in and everytime it goes into charging mode.
