Just for its and giggles I thought I would backup my system and test some of the newly released drivers for the R3 on my R2.

So far, I have successfully installed the following:

    NEC Driver - USB 3.0 - 2.0.26.0 - A00 (I have a USB 3.0 ExpressCard based on the NEC chipset)

    NECUSB3.JPG

    NECUSB3_2.JPG

    Synaptics Touchpad Driver - 15.1.19 - A00

    TouchPad.JPG

    Intel RST - 10.0.0.1046 - A00

So far, everything is working as it should.

    Update:

Installation of the 92HD73 Audio Driver was only partially successful. I can extract the package and update the Audio driver, however, the IDT Audio Control Panel will not install. Re-installed the m17x-R2 driver package.

Installation of the DE351DL Free Fall Sensor was a big fail. I uninstalled the m17x-R2 package and successfully installed the m17x-R3 package, however, the Free Fall Sensor does not detect the hard drives. Removal of the m17x-R3 package and re-installation of the m17x-R2 package resulted in a BSOD. I have removed all traces of the Accelerometer drivers and accompanying software after rebooting into 'Last Know Good Configuration'. I haven't attempted to re-install the m17x-R2 package again ... yet ...

I'm not keen to attempt the installation of the m17x-R3 Alienware OSD software as I believe this package includes firmware.
