I just noticed while playing ARMAII that my Dual CCFL WUXGA screen auto-dims or better automatically changes brightness, and at times in certain areas of the game it gets very dark. I can simply turn to some white area, for example a window when within a room in the game, and can clearly notice that the screen turns very bright as a flash and then dims immediately.
It gets very annoying at times. Is it common and how do i remedy this?

no, you can't bypass it. it's a feature of those CCFL screens and there's not much you can do about it unfortunately.
