    Hi,

When I use my computer now I get these flickering black lines going across the screen. I was wondering what I could do to fix this problem, as it has arrived today after installing a new service pack for windows 7. I recently reinstalled (about 2 weeks ago) and there have been no problems until now.

Its a single card ati 5870, driver version 8.763.0.0

I can provide any additional details that you need, the problem actually started mid way through a CS:S session where the textures then went all inverted and then back to normal almost immediately.

Thanks for any help you can provide!!

Before contacting dell (for possible defective card) I would be sure to flash the latest vbios for the card (can find that on dell site) then I would update drivers to 11.5b.

To do this, I would run the exe containing the vbios so that it allows you to make the bootable cd, then I would uninstall my vid drivers, reboot into safe mode, run drivercleaner and/or ccleaner to remove any left over driver registry entries.
Then, reboot running the cd you just created and let it update your vbios (if necessary) then reboot into windows and install the 11.5b drivers.

If all of that does not work, then contact dell and they will most likely replace your card.

Good luck and keep us updated

    OK,

After speaking with dell it has been determined that its a bad screen, because when hooked up to a secondary it performs fine. They have a technician coming around tomorrow and everything will be fixed then.

Yay! And thanks debaucher for the advice but that didnt work :(

Well, glad you got it sorted out anyways.

Hopefully the new screen will work (ie.. problem with the screen and not the connector on the MB..otherwise dell will have to send that out and have a tech come again)

    Good luck
