I enabled the Stealth mode by pressing the gauge button on the laptop, but now I can't disable it.

If I press it again (and select Yes), then go into the AW CC it still says that I am running on Stealth mode.

P.S. If anyone ever wondered what's the world's crappiest touchpad, it's the one on m17x...

    totally agree on the touchpad.
i assume you tried to restart the computer and that didn't help ?
in your place i'd power drain and see if it helps.
I never use the stealthmode myself, and i think that after that experience you won't either :)

Thanks. Oh good grief.... I actually pressed it again after restarting in hope that the light will go off if it's actually disabled - it just seemed logical.

    Rebooting... Failed.

    Still stuck.

    Power draining.... seriously...

Had the same thing happen to me, dont even bother with alien cc. Look very closely at the light and keep enablimg it, if you see a difference in brightness on the touch sensitive Alien cc, then when its bright its on, dim=off. Try that. Also if you disable it and alt tab it will still show it enabled even though it is off. You have to exit the alien cc again, once the touch sensitive alien cc is dim, and go back in a itll work. They need to fix that.

    Thanks guys! :)

ROFL! Yet again, Power Drain rocks. Solved this problem too. Yeah nothing else helped. I reinstalled Command Center, thought there was a bug there. Now I'm back out of Stealth mode.

Now the only annoyance left is that damn Java upgrade. That's going down next. :)

BTW I didnt look at the lights, I tried running 3DMark06 or Vantage. And they were going really really slow

Thanks for the link Elkay. The title "slow mouse" was a little misleading, I think that's why I skipped it.

Yeah, I had asked BatBoy to change it. He must have overlooked it. I'll ask him again.

does the "odometer" stealth mode button ever go off. i mean is the light always on or does it go on/off according to stealth mode state?

It goes darker when on stealth mode and brighter when in normal mode. Never completely dark.

all you need to make sure you're in stealth mode or not is wattos app that is linked on the top of the page.

Yeah, I use it too now. I didn't know about it before, but it's a great little app. I use it when I'm watching movies or when I want the laptop more quiet (or less loud :) ) together with Power Savings mode. It's also perfectly reliable for switching, unlike the option from the Command Center.

I don't have any response to my command center or my stealth mode touch sensors and my volume isn't displaying on the screen either. It was a few days ago and I haven't changed anything. Any particular order to uninstall and reinstall these to get it working?

Hey Zero, are you re-installing the command center? I mean, like, doing a big rebuild? You ask about order, and yes, you should install command center last, but that would be in the context of a full system redo. If you just uninstall it and reinstall it, that should be roughly equivalent. I do have a big long post out here for the "nuclear option" redo procedure, but I assume you are not doing that.
