So my microphone seems to be broken or oversensitive.

people from the other side can hear my voice but also really disturbing noises which i cant figure out where they come from. i though it was from the gpu or cpu and i used all the options in the microphone options :

    *accoustic echo cancelation
    *light beam forming
    *Aggressive beam forming

i also disabled all the microphone enhancements

i have my microphone Array at 60% and the boost at 0.0db

i also reinstalled the drivers. nothing happened.

this is not happening all the times. for example i was on skype 1 hour ago and everything was ok. now i tried to talk again and the noise came back.

i tried almost everything i guess.

this is happening on skype and steam so far.

So fellas, any experience? suggestion? :)

    Update:

I created this post couple of weeks ago and now coming with the solution. if you have the same problem seems
that you have a broken microphone.
a tech came here 2day replacing the microphone and the new one is working great. no buzzing noises no echo sound. :D

Skype is notorious for issues with mic quality. There are many posts on this here - use the search feature and you might come across additional info which may help.

As for Steam, you have to remember to use the steam or in-game mic settings as well. try boosting the mic via steam. The R2 has the same exact mic as the R1 and I have no issues with steam using the integrated mic.

For that listen checkbox - do not check it unless you have headphones or the volume way down - the annoying noise you heard is feedback from speakers being picked up by the mic and can damage the speakers.

Suggest disabling mic enhancements (as you did), reset windows mic properties to default and then use the actual app (steam and skype) to configure your mic settings.

    Hope this helps.

I have exact same problem, and read on a previous post that it may be due to foam placed over mic or something like it?!

I have the same problem. In a prior perusal of the forum to find a solution, it seemed that lots of people had this problem and it was a hardware design flaw. Some people have had it fixed by having Dell replace the mic.
