Hi upgraded to 680M, use the modded INF files from this forum and the computer plus card work brilliantly.
When I attach HDMI cable to the HDMI OUT port on the laptop and connect the other end to the TV (Samsung 46" 3DTV) it does not work. I press fn + f8 to change the monitor but none of the settings work.
    I choose projector (blank screen),
I choose dual display (laptop monitor turns in to a safe mode style image and tv stays blank)
    I choose extend (blank screen)
    Any ideas?

Through eDP it works (crashed HWinfo), as DDDenniZZZ pointed out LVDS is the problem. eDP default setting is 60Hz auto changes to 120Hz when needed, mine is set 120Hz. Probably eDP connector cable is different so swapping won't work.

wow! J95, thanks but am not sure what all that means to be honest. Tried trawling through the 78 pages of comments but gave up after 10 as the thread is epic. My M17XR3 is a 60Hz monitor (not a 3D one) if that helps...
(on a side not downloaded the new driver for Bioshock Infinite, an hour after I completed the game haha doh! but thanks for the new INF file too for the driver, works brilliantly)

So the bottom line is my laptop won't work on my TV?

LVDS connector = GPU + iGPU 60Hz laptop screen.
eDP connector = GPU 120Hz screen.

Joe85 has the 60Hz model and it works, check the HDMI cable connector and settings with nvidia control panel.

For what it's worth, my HDMI OUT works perfectly fine on my R3 with the 680 in it. I didn't have to change any settings, just plugged the cable in and it worked. My guess is that you have other issues not directly related to the card.

Try different drivers, did you ever test the older card with that output?

It can be handled by either. If you disable Optimus, the GTX 680 handles HDMI (and everything else)...although I have had a weird issue where sometimes when I unlock my system the external display never comes back until I've manually disabled/reenabled it.

After installing the newest driver from this forum I opened the Nvidia control panel, plugged in the HDMI cable and boom it jumped straight over to the tv without any hassle, odd but not complaining, just put bioshock infinite on and it looks amazing.
Second question. can my laptop with the 3DTV attached handle 3D games in theory (I know there are alot of variables but has anyone got at 60Hz monitor and outputted to a 3DTV with success?
