    Hey guys,
I was trying to clean out my laptop and reapply some new thermal paste. I watched some videos on youtube to see how it disassembled. I got the palm rest off and thats as far as i got. I unscrewed the 2 screws holding the touch indicator bar thing and i tried to pry it out. i only could get the left and right sides up but the middle stayed clamped down and I didnt really wanna force it. There are only 2 screws right? Thats all i saw on youtube.

    Any help is appreciated

touch indicator is tricky, open your laptop screen to max degree, then try to lift it from the left side

and yes, there are 2 long screws that are holding it

it is not a must to open it like this, but it helps a bit. Try to move the touch indicator up and down, it will be easier to relese it from small plastic clamps :)

my gpu and cpu temps are reaching around 75 C just searching the web, that is why i am trying to clean my old thermal paste cleaned off and reapplying a new layer. :(

Not sure if you got this sorted or not, but try slide a thin screwdriver into the top left and right parts of your keyboard and under the touch bar at the top (there are 2 small holes for this purpose), should be able to pop it up with some small pressure, good luck!

A link to the manual is available in the first post of the M17x Owner's Lounge.
