Hello and greetings from Sweden =)

After a crashed motherboard and a burned GPU, my alienware m17xr3 is finaly on track ^^

But after the dell technican changed the motherboard and GPU i just cant get light on my media keys and alienware skull.

Sure the skull blinks but there is now permanent glow.

And the media keys are not working at all.

I have been looking around and getting some tips, reinstall, remove and use cclean, clearing of all power and restarting, etc etc but nothing will work :S

    The FN button works.

Anyone got a clue what it can be? Will post a picture of what i am talking about =)

It could be a connection issue (the ribbons are not/poorly connected).

You could actually check the cable yourself. If you remove the bottom panel, there are five screws labeled "I". If you follow the video found here:

Alienware M17X R3 Swapping RAM - Easy guide on changing RAM on the M17X R3 - YouTube

You would only need to remove the keyboard frame, not the keyboard to reseat the cable. If in fact that doesn't work, I would tell Dell it will not light-up and have them send you another keyboard frame. Install it yourself! :)

Sure. Let me know how it goes. I've replaced my keyboard frame a few times.
