If you have a backup of your system, you could try partedmagic.

Boot with the CD, go to partition tool, and do a secure erase of your ssd, then, restore your backup.

If you have no backup, i suggest you to check acronis true image home.

Your SSD has an Sandforce controller that compresses the data, try changing the crystaldiskmark settings to top left, file / test data /all 0x00 0fill and see if you get a better score.

Just lurking here, I don't know about the benchmark numbers but having the same boot time as the original HDD is very weird. Even a slow SSD should see some improvement. Have you tried removing the HDD completely? Just have an idea and it's a quick test ;)

According to that benchmark, it's running the speed it should. The mSATA slot in the R4 is only SATA II unlike the two main HDD bays.

If your right the OP might be better buying an standard SSD and cloning the mSSD to it and booting from the SDD, check if you can do this from the bios.

I tested SATA II and SATA III and could not see a difference in use, and around 1~2 seconds on boot (R3 with SATA III isues)

On the Dell website the msata from the M17X R4 supposed to be Sata II and Sata III ( Which are the main differences between the Alienware M17x R3 and the M17x R4 platforms? | Dell US )

There are only 6 x 6gb/sec ports on the R4 chipset. Four are allocated to fast USB (3.0) ports and the remaining two are the main drive bays @ SATA III. This is an OEM decision, Intel supply the ports and the OEM decides where to allocate them ;)

Dell downgraded the R3 to SATA II after having problems with getting it to work on both drive bays.

Couldn't get the link to work so not sure what it says there...

Edit: got it, I'm sure that document is wrong!

I'd go with IRST since dell reps here have stated that the msata is SATA II, and nobody have seen anything else. Maybe it's just reporting the drives' capability rather than the actual transfer?

Is windows still taking a long time to load?

Edit: I wouldn't get bogged down in the whole SATA II/III thing. It's unnoticeable in use on an SSD and only makes a big difference for HDD's.

still taking the same time to boot ... before I did not have the msata so my reboot was 50 seconds but now with the msata my boot is reboot is 49 seconds that's not normal for msata even with 3gb speed don't you guys think that ???

    Exactly ;)

Take out the HDD, I have a feeling it is booting from that or some other problem. Just removing it will prove out that this is not happening...

Never seen longer than 20 sec boots on an SSD

Just to confirm, as Michy said the R4 has 6 SATA III slots, 4 are for the USB 3.0 and 2 are on the main drives. The mSATA will only run at SATA II speeds. The document shows SATA II and III as supported drives (it isn't as clear as I wish it was). It refers to the drives supported and not to the actual port speed. Hopefully by removing the HDD you may be able to notice a change on the boot speed.
Otherwise you could use the mSATA as cache for the regular boot drive you had or you could also buy an SSD for the main ports.
