intel tuning utility allows memory multiplier and voltage to be adjusted

currently i am running 1600mhz ram but the memory speed in the intel utility states that it is running at only 1152 mhz...can i increase multiplier to get as close to 1600? do i need to put more voltage?

I don't know anything about the proper use of XTU, but I get a similar result, except it shows my memory at 1067Mhz, using a 10.67 mem multiplier and 5-5-5-20 timing. I am actually using HyperX 1600 (9-9-9-27). Even if the XTU values are applied in or by the utility, it does not appear to change anything. CPU-Z still shows 1600Mhz and the 9-9-9-27 settings. I changed the memory settings in XTU to the proper settings with a 16x multiplier and the 9-9-9-27 timing, but they didn't hold through a reboot. I am using PnP memory, but I just set it to 1600 (instead of Auto) and XMP-2, so the XTU settings shouldn't have any effect. However, I would like to understand where those settings come from. If you find a source for information about memory settings and adjustments in XTU, please share it.

    XMP-2 is DDR3-1600 CL 9-9-9-27 @ 1.5v. (for Kingston HyperX 1600)
