Ok, so I modded my r2 with a 7970M and then with a a 920xm. So the current machine configurations is:
    920xm cpu
    7970M video card
    8gb ram
    samsung 840 pro ssd 500
    500Gb Hard disk (secondary)
    USb 3.0 pcmci card
    etc.

I have a naga mouse connected direcly to the laptop
all otehr devices connect through a powered Usb Hub (to help power consumption
Devices conencted to the hub (Collermaster x-slim cooler) (g-13 gamepad)(Creative warcraft wireless headset)(Microsoft wireless adapted for xbox controller)(voice tap pedal for wireless hadset)
The machine also had a secondary monitor connected to it on a regular basis.

I currently run hwinfo to control the fans, and have throttlestop running, but with extremely minimal overclocking. (turbos set to 25 - TDP 95 -tdc 70)

    OK, HERE ARE THE SYMPTOMS:
1-When I power the machine after being unplugged for a while (traveling) LCD may display a glimmery whitish blot. I have found otu that if I plug an external display, it will sove the issue.
2-When playing games like Hawken, Tomb raider or Bioshock Infinite, the machine might lock up, having me to hold the poer button to restart
3-When playing games like Hawken, Tomb raider or Bioshock Infinite, the machine might power off by itself.

I thought it could be overheating, but the card stays below 75 and the cpu as well.
I am starting to think it might be a power issue... but i am not running sli cards, jsut single. Any ideas?

I don't know about the glimmering white blot... never heard of that one. If it is really tiny (I envision a large artifact based on your description) it might just be a stuck pixel.

Symptoms 2 and 3 might be directly related to the same root cause. Symptom 3 sounds like a power problem to me, too. If you don't run ThrottleStop and leave the CPU totally stock, does it do the same thing?

To be quite honest, i dont remmember what are the settings for a pure stock 920 xm in throttlestop... But am willing to try them if i am told which values to plug in.

    Thanks in advance

Also, its not a small artifact for sympton one. Its the whole screen. It resembles an lcd thats broken and leaking the liquid i think.

first thing's first, where did you get your 7970m from? was it from upgradeyourlaptop? if that's the case you might have a dell 7970m which auto shutsdown at 80++ degree. As you said your temps are only at 75 degree but it might be higher when the auto shutdown occurred. As I and a few other users here have faced the exact issue, your symptoms does describe what we faced last time. And as for your LCD issue, does the whitish blot occur after the windows 7/8's boot screen?

Eurocom is usually Clevo, but sometimes sells official Dell cards.

Your lockup can indeed be your OC.
Try using TS and adjust tdp and tdc to 65-65. and set all cores on 23 (that would be stock.)

25 on all cores takes at least TDP 95 and TDC 65~70.

Lock ups can also occur from you GPU, so make sure you keep that one @stock levek to figure out what is causing your lock ups.

As for shutdown, i would need to ask what power brick you are using. For your setup you NEED the 240W, i am guessing you are using a lower power rating brick..?
