hey whats up, i wanna know ur suggestions on this package im about to buy for upgrading my r3:

crucial m4 ssd for boot HD (c :)
Amazon.com: Used and New: Crucial 128 GB m4 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive SATA 6Gb/s CT128M4SSD2

    secondary hd:
    seagate momentus 750gb 7200rpm

    http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Momen...f=sr_1_11?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1321897177&sr=1-11

seagate momentus XT hybrid SSD HD 500 gb

Amazon.com: Seagate Momentus XT 7200RPM SATA 3Gb/s 32 MB Cache 2.5 Inch Solid State Hybrid Drive: Computers & Accessories

    western digital 750gb 7200 rpm
Newegg.com - Western Digital Scorpio Black WD7500BPKT 750GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Notebook Hard Drive -Bare Drive

    --------------

16 gb ram (seems like 8gb is not enough for photoshop/after FX)

    4 x kingston 4gb 1600mhz ddr3
    Amazon.com: Kingston HyperX Plug n Play 8 GB Kit (2x4GB Modules) 1600MHz DDR3 SODIMM Notebook/Netbook Memory 8 Dual Channel Kit (PC3 12800) 204-Pin KHX1600C9S3P1K2/8G: Electronics

    ---------

will all these stuff fit my laptop? with no arrangement or cuttin (my brother had to cut a little piece of plastic in his laptop, to fit the SSD.)

also, which secondary hd is the best? ive heard the hybrid is faster.. but its worth to sacrifice 250gb? (1tb doesnt have 7200rpm, which is important in film edition)

    any commentaries, accepted.

    thanks

The RAM will work, You only have two bays for HDDs though so thats all that you can get in, unless your willing to remove your optical drive and put in another HDD caddy.

The hybrid is faster...but personally for a second drive, i'd get the 750 because for data storage, it won't make that much of a difference

i know, the SSD is for the primary. and the secondary has 3 options, which ill choose only one. total of 2 hd =)

ive heard something bout ram slots being in different part, one below the keyboard. is it hard to reach?

and about the secondary, ok 750gb is better. but which one u recommend?

Ahh gotcha. For a secondary I like plenty of storage space. I opted for a 1TB at the cost of making my optical drive an external unit (see sig). Mostly because I had already used the two HDD slots to setup an SSD RAID 0 configuration. But the RAM I can't comment on since I don't have an R3. But I wouldn't guess it would be hard to reach both dimms.

ah interesting thing u did there, but i currently have 600gb space and im barely using 300gb, videogames adobe and stuff. mostly stored in an external drive. so i think big storage is an issue.. but im thinking bout future, where games no longer weights 6gb.. now at days, they are around 14gb. still not much :p

nope, its just a few screws and then you'll have access to ram slots 3,4
you can refer to this video for instructions on how to reach ram slots 3,4

Slots 1,2 are easy to get to as it only requires the back panel off.

just be careful with those...its 50/50 in here where people have them work out of the box, or many have had to downclock to 1600mhz for stability

Yeah PnP 1866Mhz have been hit and miss lately. 1600Mhz ones are fine though.

    @ OP,

go for the 128M4 and a 750GB hdd....although if you want a smidgen more performance the 500 xt will bode you well

personally i have the 128 in port 1 and the 750gb in port 0...see issues with ssd in port 0...this pc is phenomenal.....only if the ppl. at dell get their "game faces on" and rectify their assembly issues

check thessdreview.com...to optimise the experience...i would swear by the fact hibernate is a thing of the past with SSD's (all of this coming from a relative SSD "newbie")
