    need help with my m17x R3 VGA card GTX 460M :(

    i bought this M17x R3 for 1 week and 1 day ... up to now ; i cant switch my Alienware from onboard card to Vga card - GTX 460 M 1,5 Gb ... :(

    can someone teach me how to ? ... i'm newest member at alienware ! :D

    Optimus is an automatic switching system. You don't do anything. However if you would like to run programs with the nvidia card, you would whitelist them in the nvidia control panel to run on the "High Performance" card.

    Right click anywhere on the desktop and you should see an option for Nvidia.

    OMG ! that's my problem ! it cant switch by itself ... my brother using 2 years old M17x ... with noobie gear ...

    i'm using 2011 M17x R3 ... and cant play same game ... :(

    i tried a lot of times about change Nvidia Driver ... turn off onboard vga ... GTX 460M seem cant run ...

    What game are you trying to run? You might have to lower the settings to play the game fluently. Don't forget, the R3 is a single GPU laptop whereas your brothers is a dual GPU laptop.

    cant use windows server 2008 R2 data center ... :(

    i tried another OS ... windows7 ultimate and VGA card working properly
