Everything's been running fine. Been gaming, etc. I was installing Fallout 3 GotY and having some trouble with all the Windows Live bull and then all of the sudden during installation, I get a BSOD and then a reboot and then a bunch of driver installations and now I have only the Intel 4000 graphics. The 680m doesn't even show up in BIOS. What the hell? Anyone know what has happened or how to fix it?

    Thanks,

    Rob

Well, everything seems to be working again now after a reboot. Fallout 3 was giving me fits! I read so much about how to get it to work and it sounded like it was the integrated graphics that it doesn't like. Anyway, I finally tried the FN F7 to disable the integrated graphics and now it works! Also, as a side note, for some reason only the integrated graphics card was showing up in the 'configuration' screen that pops up before games start where you can make graphics choices. Skyrim was now only showing the Intel 4000 and not my 680m as well however I could have swarn it was showing both before whatever happened to me during the fallout 3 installation. With skyrim, even though only the intel 4000 showed in the menu, I could still play it with all choices maxed so apparently the 680m was still doing the work and not the intel 4000. However, it bothered me that both weren't showing up to choose which I wanted to use and that only the Intel 4000 was able to be selected (yet not really used??). I feel much better now that I have disabled the Intel 4000 chip. I think that will get rid of potential problems as I was seeing with Fallout 3 and then the discrete graphics detection problem with even newer games.

Make sure that you have all games set up like this.

This happened to me before. All I had to do was reset the BIOS settings to defaults. Hope this helps.
