    newbie question: error running 3dmark11/wount recognize 7970m

    i just got my R4 and ran 3dmark11. the first time it gave an error in the last test (combined). the second time it went all the way threw and this is result

    P5869 3DMarks with Generic VGA(1x) and Intel Core i7-3820QM Processor

    i have the radeon 7970 but it doesnt seem to recognize it or want to use it for the test. anyone have any ideas?

    Did you make sure you are using the 7970 and not the integrated graphics?

    well i know that 3dmark11 is set to high performance, that is all i know. is there something else to be done?

    Try pressing FN + F7 to switch to the 7970.

    i hate to tell you this, but both runs were with the 7970m

    All you did on the second run was shut off enduro with FN+F7.

    Hd 4000 integrated graphics does not score 20k in vantage. HD4000 scores about 6500 in vantage...there is a huge difference

    BTW, you are in the ballpark for a 7970m...22k vantage is nothing to sneeze at

    Well that makes alot of sense... for a second there i though that either the hd 4000 was pretty awesome that it scored so close to the 7970 or the 7970 was not much better then 4000.

    Again i'm very new to this so im trying to learn as i go along. thank you for you help.

    no worries dude! enjoy the beast, 22k vantage is something to marvel, now it is time to oc the beast to see 24k results (which was a SLI/crossfire deed not too long ago :))
