I've just run through the online builder and noticed the core i7 620m isn't on the options list anymore. Anyone know why? Is there a problem with this processor? I bought an R2 from the outlet with one this weekend and hope this isn't a bad sign.

Probably just out of stock. I wouldn't worry about it as the 620M is a strong dual core

No problems. Both cores on 3.33 GHz TurboBoost work like a charm! ;)

On a Core i7-620M, the default frequency is 2.66GHz and when both cores are in the active state, the maximum TurboBoost frequency is 3.06GHz. These processors only turbo boost up to 3.33GHz when a single core is in the active state but that doesn't last very long because background tasks will wake up the second core on a regular basis and drop them both down to 3.06GHz. Still a great processor with a lot faster average speed than any of the non-Extreme Quad Core i7 CPUs.

You make sense. But I had both cores running on 3.33 GHz I think during the 3DMark06 benchmark. Seen it quite a few times during benching. Maybe I shouldn't plant a seed.... but can't seem to do it now. Now I do have A08 BIOS now....

Some software misreports the multipliers being used when these CPUs are lightly loaded because some programmers have decided not to follow Intel's recommended monitoring method. When you see 3.33GHz on both cores at the same time, you are being lied to. Within a few milliseconds of the second core waking up, the maximum multiplier for both cores immediately drops to 3.06GHz. Run 4 threads of Prime95 or wPrime and ThrottleStop definitely won't be showing you 3.33GHz.
