    Hi all...

Just been playing around with my m17x (havent done anything much with it yet as still finding my feet)

I have noticed, when i first turned it on, it played a windows 7 jingle/tune when it was booting prior to the login screen.

I have now noticed that it doesnt play - have checked in sounds and its checkbox is enabled yet still doesnt play on start up.

Only things i have done so far is to install a/v and update windows, create recovery discs and install a logitech performance mx mouse (setpoint software) and thats it...

Anyone have any ideas why it isnt working or what i can do to get it working?
I know its nothing major but i kinda liked it :)

If my volume is down the windows sound dose not come on. That the only thing I can think of.

My volume is at 60 and is on so its not that.....it does the beep noise when you login and comes to the desktop but no sound/jingle when "windows starting" before logon screen...

Just very annoying as i dont know why its turned itself off even tho its showing as on in the system sounds window.

Sorry for 2 posts but I spoke to AW tech today and he said thhat hhe didnt know what or why this was happening...i explained all ive done is very basic run of the mill stuff....recovery disks, a/v suite...mouse software....windows 7 updates and a java update....thats as much as i have done.....

He suggested a software conflict or a win 7 update conflict but im still none the wiser and still cant get the start up jingel to play when i boot the pc...

    Suggestions anyone?

Have you tried going into Control Panel > Sounds, Speech and Devices > Change sound scheme

Look for Start Windows having a wave file associated with it. If none, assign one. Try removing the current wave file and re-add it to Start Windows. Be sure to test with Play sound when you assign the wave file.
