I have had this problem for some time now where on boot up it gives me the message power adapter not recognised press F1 to continue F3 to ignore the message and F2 to go into setup.

It appeared to me that everything was working properly so i just always hit F1 and continue.

It began to bug me so search some forums but no good answers.

I managed to run the diagnostic tool on the boot up not sure it was in bios or the F2 setup now. but it said everything was working well showed the adapter is outputting 255W and it said the battery was 91% ok

So according to the diagnostic tool everything is hunky dory so now I have hit the F3 button and told it to ignore it.

Hoping anyone can shed any light on this that I may have missed or if there is some concern or something else I should do.

    thanks

Try, like mentioned in a few threads in here, to remove your battery without your power cord connected.
Leave it off for a litle bit (someone tells u to press start button to use all capacitor voltages for me it didnt matter) and put battery back in and then hook up cable and reboot.
    Hope this fixes problem .

You may also try a BIOS update, that could help you fixing the issue.

This happened to me, but not only did it not recognize the adapter, it also caused major performance issues throughout my entire computer. Basically, the computer was only getting a % of power run to it, so it obviously affected everything.

To fix it I simply unplugged my adapter and plugged it into a new socket. Problem solved. It then happened again months later and I had to do that process again to fix it. Now it works fine.

    Good luck!
