hey guys, had my m17x r4 a while now, few month, 680gtx 3820qm etc been incredibly happy with it, but lately, when i pick it up or hold it near the left of the touch pad or apply any pressure in the lower left corner of the laptop it turns off completely and i have to power it back on, sometimes when i do it the screen goes funny too, should i take the back off and inspect ?

I'd say this is a warranty call. You will need to remove the motherboard to get to that area, and whatever it is I'd want a 'real' fix and it sounds like something is 'shorting-out'. :(

ive diagnosed the issue, i took the back off and had a look, the exact place the pressure is applied is over the connector from the ssd to the mobo on module 0, its an m4 ive had at least 2 years and it was dodgy in my last laptop ( it died, had to unplug it for 5 days for it to power up and work) ive swapped it to module 1 and put the hard drive in the module 0, it hasnt turned off since, no matter how much pressure i apply or bang the laptop about, i cannot reconstruct the power off anymore, it was as easy as applying slight pressure on the connector now i cant make it happen at all, so im guessing dodgy ssd.
