Just curious if its important to use the Synaptics OEM touchpad driver from the dell site over the much newer drivers on the synaptic site? Does anyone know what (if any) fuctions are lost from using the synaptics driver?
Dell:
Synaptics Synaptics TouchPad, v.15.1.19, A00
Synaptics:
Windows 8/7/XP/Vista 64/32-bit Edition v16.3.15.1

I use the newer ones from synaptics its fine for me (R4) mine though, but they should work.

I'm searching for a good one myself - the Sager driver has palm protection and the Synaptics one does not. This is a big deal for me.

Me too.
I try to use always the newevest from Synaptics. -

No issues using the Synaptics ones. Don't worry.
