This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    You can tune down the voltage and clocks to the same levels as the 680M with the 780M and it would be better performing per watt due to the fully enabled core.

    You do not tune down your GPU.. You always overclock it! That is the eternal rule ;)

    Ha when adding in an HD5850M into an old Acer 7738G you HAD to down clock it so it did not blow up ;)
