I recently sold my almost 2 years old m17x R1 on eBay. Now, I am shopping for a new 17.3" replacement.

Can the default 1920x1080 LED screen that came with m17x R3 be replaced conveniently (self installation)? Have anyone done it or know if AUO B173HW01 v4 will fit?

After torured by the stock CCFL LCD on my old m17x r1 for two years, I will not settle for anything less than an AUO B173HW01 v4

    Many thanks in advance.

They have different aspect ratios and are completely different size screens so swapping wouldn't be possible.

It doesn't have to be B173HW01, but something equivalence in term of quality. I am sure it can be changed unless r3 uses some exclusive part with unqiue size or lockage. My question is really on how hard is it to do? Has anyone done it and what panel they went with?

    Many thanks in advance.

After some research, it appears that m17x's screen came in a sealed unit. It is not possible to switch the panel inside unless you cut the sealant or housing. I guess it can't be changed to a non-m17x screen after all.
