Alright so I've had my mx17 r3 for a few years, had the issue with sleep mode before so I changed settings-worked. Recently had a HD failure, put in a SSD, things were fine. BUT I forgot about the sleep issue and never changed my settings. So off on a trip I go, mylaptop goes to sleep while I'm out n about come back, it won't wake up, I hold the power button down all the lights go off, fan etc,, power back on, keyboard lights up, hear stuff moving, but screen remains black (along with alienware logo and alienhead powerbutton).
So I've pulled powercord and battery let it sit, power back up- same thing. Held down power button for 30 to 60 seconds (with all sources of power removed and not removed), then try n turn it on, same thing.
Hitting the suspend button causes keyboard lights etc to shut off so it looks as if it'spowered down, hit power button to turn it on, nothing happens. Hit the suspend button again, nothing. I have to unplug power cord and battery, put back in then press power button. Keyboard lights up, fans strart etc but still no screen.
I've tried the. FN+F7. But ilm not sure if this will do anythingif it actually is rebooting and I'm just at the log in screen. Even tried putting pw etc just incasei was a login screen. No luck there either
Basically it looks like it just keeps resuming sleep/suspend mode even when I pull all sources of power. Is there a way to get it to actually reboot or get it out of this resuming sleep moe even after itsbeen rebooted? I can't do anything with the screen being off. Ugh!
Anyone know anyway to deal wit this? I'm stuck in the world's worst hotel with nothing to do.
resuming suspend after battery pulled?
